Audio researcher and electronic musician. Research engineer at Native Instruments, PhD from IRCAM, performing as Ninon.
Ninon Devis Salvy works between research into creative machine learning for music, the design of instruments that make those models playable, and a performance practice rooted in techno and experimental electronics. The research asks what it takes to give a musician real control over a generative system; the instruments are the answer, tested in public.
She is an Audio Research Engineer on the research team at Native Instruments in Berlin, where she worked on the Absynth 6 Preset Explorer, a spatial way of browsing a preset library by sound rather than by name. She holds a PhD from IRCAM / Sorbonne Université for work on real-time neural synthesis on embedded hardware, which produced the Neurorack. In 2023 she was an invited student researcher with Google Brain’s Magenta team.
She produces and performs as Ninon, with releases on Terenor Records and live electronic and DJ sets across Europe and Japan. Recent projects include the audiovisual duo N / V with Victor Calvi and the Wilding AI residency at MONOM during CTM Festival 2025.

Ninon Devis Salvy is a researcher and electronic musician based in Berlin. She is an Audio Research Engineer at Native Instruments and holds a PhD from IRCAM / Sorbonne Université, where she built the Neurorack, the first Eurorack module to run a deep generative model entirely on embedded hardware. She produces and performs live electronics and DJ sets as Ninon.
